Alphabet Adventures: Every Tuesday we will hold a pre-school class called Alphabet Adventures. In September we will be covering the letters A, B and C. Each week we will try to incorporate different skills such as cutting, coloring, counting, pasting, color and shape recognition in addition to learning a new letter. Please pre-register by the Monday prior. It is not necessary to attend every class. This class is appropriate for ages 2-5 and takes place from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. THE FALL SESSION STARTS TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 12th.
Wednesday Play Group: A play group for children age five and under will be held every Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. This is a great time for little ones to socialize and learn the valuable lessons of sharing, cooperation and fair play. This also provides caregivers an opportunity to connect with other parents and caregivers in the community. Come join the fun! This is a free program and there is no need to register. FALL SESSION STARTS WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 13th.
Adventures in Art- This program will take place the second Thursday of every month throughout the school year from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. These classes are free of charge and open to “kids” of all ages. On September 14th we will be painting and decorating keepsake “treasurer” boxes for all those special trinkets your child has. Adult Activities: Thursday September 21st- Crock Pot meal prep session where you can complete 10 freezer meals in under two hours. Contact the center to pre-register. Menu will include: Tomato Hamburger Soup, Sweet ‘n’ Sour Ribs, White Chicken Chili, Burgundy Beef, Chicken Fettuccine, Polynesian Pulled Chicken, Tex-Mex Shredded Beef, Tropical Pulled Pork Sliders, Beef with au Jus, Hearty Jambalaya. For the cost of $10 we will provide you with a shopping list, recipes, freezer bags and some of the ingredients needed to complete ten freezer meals. We also will make one of the meals for you to sample. This is a series of new meals to try. You must pre-register and pay one week in advance.
Thursday October 19th- Join us for a fun evening with Stephanie Sheahan from Studio 37 (www.studio37creations.com). Stephanie will offer a variety of options for make and take board art. Registration deadline for this event will be October 12, 2017. More details coming in September.
Homework Club- This program is offered to Prairie View Elementary students in 3rd through 5th grade who require some extra assistance with their assignments and in getting their homework completed in a timely manner. This is a teacher referral program that starts in October. If you feel you have a student that could benefit from this program please discuss it with their homeroom teacher.
SAVE THE DATE: SATURDAY NOVEMBER 4th- We will be holding our annual silent auction fundraiser. Please join us at Ivan’s Backstage for a delicious Hors d’oeuvre and dessert buffet. We will have a large silent auction, wine pull entertainment and cash bar. Tickets are reasonably priced at $20 per person or 2 for $35, for a fun night out. Have a donation? SATURDAY DECEMBER 9th- We will be holding our Annual holiday craft fair from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Brett Miller Gymnasium at East Troy High School. We will have a large variety of over 70 vendors on hand, breakfast and lunch items for sale, a bake sale and music by ETMS students.
We ask that anyone interested in participating in one or more of our events please pre-register by contacting our Program Coordinator, Marolyn Joas-Komperud, at 642-4900 or e-mailing [email protected] . Pre-registration is needed to ensure that we have enough supplies to accommodate everyone.
